What is Hyaluronic Acid?

How does Hyaluronic Acid work? The human body produces its own natural substance known as hyaluronic acid (HA). Juvederm voluma main properties are that it makes the skin more plump and keeps it hydrated. During metabolism, the body naturally breaks down HA and replaces it. However, as we get older and our metabolism slows down, less HA is replaced, which causes the skin to be less hydrated and to have less volume. Medical professionals have been using HA in arthritis treatment and during eye surgery.

Pregnant or lactating women should not use Juvéderm VOLUMA

If you are considering using Juvéderm™ VOLUMA™ , then you must inform your Physician of any previous permanent products or body enhancing products you have used. You should also make them aware of any allergies, immune diseases and infections you have. Similarly if you have hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid.

The treatment should not be used in conjunction with any skin treatments including laser or dear abrasion treatment.
